Cafe Team Leader - Soul Cafe

Start: ASAP Where: Melbourne, VIC Type: Full time Pay: $27.83 p/h + weekend penalties

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are a vibrant and fast-paced cafe nestled in the heart of Melbourne, renowned for serving exceptional coffee, delicious meals, and providing a welcoming atmosphere. Our commitment to quality and service has made us a local favorite. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food & Beverage Team Leader to join our team.


About The Role
•Lead and motivate a team of enthusiastic baristas and servers, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Ensure exceptional customer service is consistently delivered, exceeding guest expectations.
• Oversee daily cafe operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and quality control.
• Train new staff members and conduct ongoing training sessions to enhance team skills and product knowledge.
•Maintain high standards for food and beverage preparation, presentation, and service quality.
•Ordering and Inventory Management.
•Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and licensing requirements.
•Address customer concerns promptly and effectively, and resolve any operational issues that may arise during shifts.
•Work closely with the management team to implement and execute promotions, events, and new menu items.
•Staff Scheduling: Develop and manage staff schedules, considering peak business hours and maintaining appropriate staffing levels.

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 1 year previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

About You
•Proven experience as a Food & Beverage Team Leader or similar role in a fast-paced cafe or restaurant environment.
•Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
•Strong understanding of coffee preparation, food handling, and hygiene standards.
•Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
•Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer proficiency.
•Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
•Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
•Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
•Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification or ability to secure one.
•A passion for the food and beverage industry and a commitment to delivering a memorable cafe experience.
